My Jewelry Business
When I was nine, I asked my father to buy me a DS Game. He said; ”No, but you can buy one with your money.” “I don’t have any money” I said. “Well you should find a business to start.” So I started my jewelry business. I started making bracelets and selling them for $10 dollars. A friend of my Dad’s told him about Paparazzi and he thought it was a good idea. He also knew that I loved jewelry.
When the company shipped some jewelry to me, I just fell in love with it! I told my dad that this is it, I’m going to do this business and it’s not going to be that hard because I’m not making the jewelry. It’s already made for me and ready to sell.
It was very fun to pick out the jewelry online. There were so many cute things to order. When I got all my jewelry, I was so excited to open the box. It looked a lot prettier in person than online. I ordered rings, bracelets, headbands, hairclips, and necklaces.
My first party was a success. I made all of the invitations and handed them out. Then, when it was the day of my first party all the ladies showed up even my friends. All of the people loved the jewelry and bought tons of it. One lady even kept on asking me oh how much is this and I said “$5.00” over and over again. Finally she yelled out, “It’s just $5.00!” She was so happy. By the end of the my first party I sold just 91 pieces and made $455.00. I don’t keep all that money to myself. Half goes in my account, half goes in my cash box, and the rest of the money is to order new and more jewelry.
I display the jewelry on the dining room table. I put the rings on a ring display also I put the headbands on a headband display, and then I just lay out the hairclips. This is how I run my business. My mom and dad are my teachers.

Sieg and Deedrian are the parents of Ms. Makenzee. We are stay at home parents, happily married and professionals in the direct selling industry for over twenty years. Starting just before one of the biggest crashes on Wall Street and the worst recession in theUSAsince the great depression, Paparazzi not only survived but grew rapidly. In September of 2009 Misty joined forces with her sister, Chani, exhibiting throughout theWestern United Statesat women’s expos, large outdoor fairs, rodeos, boutiques, themed expos, and even house parties. Regardless of the venue or locale, the response is the same ….women love Paparazzi because it gives them the opportunity to purchase trendy accessories at an affordable price.
When friends and family began to lose jobs, homes, and retirement pensions Paparazzi became a way to help them earn money to “pay the bills.” Paparazzi has never pushed or encouraged people to become consultants. The product itself and the exciting opportunity it provides are all that has been needed to spark a desire in people to become involved and share with their friends and family.
As the success of our first consultants increased and their enthusiasm for the product grew, a push to expand the business began. Having never been involved in the direct sales industry, Paparazzi wanted to see if this opportunity was for the masses. Within six months, Paparazzi had grown by over 900 percent. This growth continues today,as people decide the American dream is for them, and not just the lucky few.
